There are special things happening in the Minot community, and for some of our smallest residents, there is a lot of excitement around the Magic City Discovery Center. The Children’s Museum of Minot, Inc. was established as a non-profit in 2014 with big dreams of building in Minot a state-of-the-art facility which would focus on fun and education for kids of all ages. This would be a permanent year-round indoor space for exploration and learning with tons of fun.

First Western Bank & Trust is proud to sponsor projects that enhance our community like the Magic City Discovery Center. Brenda Foster, President & CEO of First Western Bank & Trust stated, “Our Board of Directors and employees are excited to present our $50,000 corporate donation to the Magic City Discovery Center. We love the Minot community and have always believed in enhancing and giving back to the communities we serve.”

The bank announced their donation in a fun and interactive way with some of the future patrons of the Magic City Discovery Center. Children of First Western Bank & Trust employees unwrapped five giant boxes, out of each box came numbered balloons displaying the $50,000 total. Mark Lyman, Board President of Magic City Discovery Center stated, “We are so grateful to see how much corporate and individual support is being shown for the Magic City Discovery Center! We truly feel that the discovery center will be a quality of life improvement that will make our entire region a stronger, better place to raise families, have fun and be a destination location within North Dakota.”

Addressing the children in attendance, Foster added, “The idea of a children’s museum was created for the kids in our community and this state, and we hope you all enjoy the time you spend at the Magic City Discovery Center once the new doors open.”
